The CSZ Sisterhood Office Manager contributes integrally to the Sisterhood’s success, supporting the President(s) and the internal running of the Sisterhood. The position is part-time, with flexible hours. Sisterhood is an affiliate of Congregation Shaarey Zedek (CSZ), a conservate synagogue in Southfield, MI

Key responsibilities office management, including bookkeeping, managing enrollment of members, communication with Sisterhood members and facilitating their engagement; and assisting in planning and implementing events, fundraisers, and activities.

The Office Manager will monitor and assist members with donations to Sisterhood, work with the Sisterhood Treasurer and the Synagogue accounting department to manage Sisterhood accounts payable and receivable.

The Office Manager will be one of the primary contacts for the Sisterhood. Attendance at large in-person events is expected. The successful candidate will be an integral part of a Sisterhood to further our mission.

Skills, Competencies, and Qualifications

· Proficiency in Quicken, Constant Contact, Microsoft Word, Excel; and Google Docs. Excellent writing and proofreading skills are required; Ability to design flyers using Canva or similar is helpful.

 · Efficient and possess strong organizational skills; Ability to multitask and provide attention to detail; Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a team.

 · Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills; Ability to interact in a positive manner with Sisterhood members, Synagogue staff, and the public; Ability to maintain confidentiality; Familiarity with the Jewish celebrations and holidays is helpful but not a requirement.

 Day-to-Day Responsibilities

· Be the “voice of the office” as the first point of contact when Sisterhood members or any other person calls; Bookkeeping of Sisterhood accounts; Manage, post and distribute our Sisterhood communications; Manage Membership Database; Manage phone and voicemail; Communicate effectively and personably with Sisterhood members and make sure their needs are met; Work closely with President(s) and Synagogue management team;

 · Manage publicity and communication; Monitor and update President(s) regarding member communications; Assist with updating Sisterhood website and Facebook page; Manage Sisterhood mailings/email distributions regarding events and meetings;

Terms and Benefits- Hours: approximately 10 hours per week on a mutually agreeable schedule. Starting salary dependent on experience level: $18-$20 per hour; Paid training period (and subsequent work) starting as early as March 1, 2023 but not later than May 1, 2023.
