Camp Director Har Zion Day Camp

Penn Valley, PA | Part-Time Year-Round / Full-Time Summer
Salary: $22,000–$25,000 annually

Har Zion Temple is seeking a dynamic, organized, and passionate Camp Director to lead our beloved Har Zion Day Camp (HZDC). This is a part-time, year-round position that becomes full-time during the summer months. The ideal candidate is a skilled experiential educator who brings a deep love of children, a strong sense of Jewish values, and proven experience in program leadership.

Responsibilities include:

Year-Round (Part-Time)

• Collaborate with clergy and synagogue staff to plan and develop a fun, engaging, and safe summer camp program

• Manage camper recruitment, registration, and communication with families

• Hire, supervise, and train summer staff

• Coordinate logistics and supply ordering

• Maintain and grow relationships with local partners and vendors

Summer (Full-Time)

• Serve as the onsite leader of Har Zion Day Camp

• Supervise staff and ensure a high standard of safety, inclusion, and fun

• Oversee daily camp operations and troubleshoot challenges

• Maintain open and positive communication with families

• Promote a joyful Jewish environment through song, stories, celebrations, and hands-on learning

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in Jewish education, camping, or experiential learning

• Degree in education, Jewish studies, or a related field preferred

• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and leadership skills

• Passion for working with children and creating meaningful Jewish experiences
