Role Overview
Cornell Hillel seeks an experienced Development professional to support their Executive Director and Director or Development in raising the organization’s > $1.4 million budget by overseeing the strategy and implementation of its Annual Campaign. The right candidate will be entrepreneurial, creative, and organized, as well as a strong team player who is excited about taking this growing annual giving program of over 1,000 donors to the next level.

What You’ll Do
As a member of the Cornell Hillel development team, you will set your sights on the future of Hillel’s financial strength and help develop a strategic roadmap to increase annual revenue and donor acquisition/retention by: overseeing and analyzing donor data, developing digital and printed annual campaign communication, and creating opportunities for connection.

Your work will be supported by the Executive Director, Director of Development, and Director of Operations who will provide you with the tools and upfront network to optimize your fundraising efforts and enhance your growth and success in this role. We will set and accomplish ambitious goals and you will be an integral part of Cornell Hillel’s success, ensuring that all of the amazing work we do with our student community inspires every fundraising initiative.

Development Strategy & Management:
- Work directly with the Director of Development and Executive Director to support all fundraising initiatives and development strategy.
- Develop organization’s annual campaign communications schedule
- Exercise daily oversight of progress towards annual and campaign specific fundraising goals
- Help develop moves management strategies for annual donors
- Identify data driven strategies to reach non, lapsed and decreased donors
- Assist in identifying prospective major donors and board members
- Conduct research on donor prospects

Mass Solicitation & Communication:
- Creatively deploy a mix of mass-solicitation tools like email, text messaging, social media, snail mail campaigns
- Prepare all direct mail (Fall campaign, High Holiday card, new parent letter etc.) and coordinate with mail house and graphic designer when applicable
- Manage annual cycle of e-fundraising campaigns including: High Holidays, Giving Tuesday, Hanukkah, Hillel Global Giving Week, End of Year
- Prepare and disseminate monthly parent and alumni e-newsletters
- Work with programming team to secure student testimonials and photos for stakeholder communications

Data Management:
- Lead the management of Little Green Light, our donor management system. Process donations/acknowledgments, create new accounts, input donor interactions, generate reports, and ensure the system is consistently accurate.
- Create and support data infostructure for annual student phone-a-thon

Event Management:
- Collaborate with Director of Development, Assistant Executive Director, and other members of the team to coordinate events for alumni and parents in Ithaca, New York City and elsewhere including, but not limited to: Family Weekend Bagel Brunch, local and virtual parlor meetings, Reunion Weekend Reception, and Cornell Hillel’s Annual Tanner Prize Event.

Requirements:
- 3+ years experience in fundraising and marketing
- Bachelor’s degree
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; able to communicate appropriately through email, formal letters, reports, and social media
- Proficient in Excel and Microsoft suite
- Experience with CRM and data management
- Event planning experience preferred
- Conversant in Jewish history, tradition and religious practice
- Ability to travel occasionally to Ithaca (if remote) and elsewhere for donor events
- A consummate professional who is accustomed to being discrete with highly confidential information, and is fully committed to ethical fundraising practices

What you'll receive:
- Competitive salary in the nonprofit marketplace. The salary range for this role is $60,000 - $65,000.
