Tamim Academy Principal 

Tamim Academy is seeking a compassionate, organized, and enthusiastic Principal for our first grade program in our new and growing school. In this role, you will be supervising and supporting teachers in the classroom, working with them to establish classroom culture and routines and implementing a rigorous, progressive academic program. You will work as a senior administrator alongside our Director of Education and Director of Child Development, reporting to our Head of School, to help our educators create a welcoming, accessible, and joyful educational environment for our students. You will manage and spearhead family communication, fostering a collaborative home-school partnership. 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Internalizing and implementing whole-school and classroom based systems to support a smooth, joyful learning environment
  • Implementing an observation and feedback cycle with teachers in the classroom
  • Partnering with our Director of Child Development to create supportive behavior and academic plans for individual students and supporting teachers in implementing these plans
  • Partnering with our Director of Education to provide professional development for teachers, implement parent-teacher conferences, and coordinate curriculum nights and other related events
  • Managing family communication on a daily and weekly basis 
  • Promoting an educational vision and day-to-day operations that put student learning and the student experience at the center of the work
  • Manage and support scheduling needs
  • Perform any other related duties assigned by the Head of School

The Ideal Candidate Will Show:

  • Demonstrated leadership, organization, strategic, and management skills, along with outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability and patience to support both children and teachers
  • The ability to model and lead others effectively in managing and promoting positive classroom culture and family partnerships
  • Empathetic communication skills, tact, and diplomacy in a clear, courteous and professional manner
  • The ability to provide timely feedback in the interest of growth and development
  • Reflective, growth-mindset thinking toward self and others, along with a willingness to examine and grow his/her own practice
  • General knowledge of cognitive and social-emotional development of children ages 5-8
  • Skills and experience in the areas of teacher supervision, observation, and feedback

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule: Monday to Friday

Work Location: In person

Education: Master’s Degree Preferred

Experience: 5+ years of school experience
