Position: Torah Reader

Our synagogue, the Pelham Jewish Center (located in Pelham Manor, NY) is seeking to hire a Torah Reader (Ba'al Keriah) to chant the full triennial reading several Shabbatot each month. This position is available immediately.

Community Description: The Pelham Jewish Center is a warm, friendly Conservative-Egalitarian, synagogue in Lower Westchester County. Our Shabbat services are traditional and welcoming, and the synagogue offers a wide range of Jewish cultural, educational and religious programs.
Work Remotely: No

Qualifications: The reader should be well-versed in Torah trope (cantillation) and should be able to chant the Parshah clearly and audibly. Our synagogue does not require that the reader live within walking distance.
