Job Title: Development Associate

Reports to: Development and Events Coordinator

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the coordination, preparation and staffing of multiple fundraising events throughout the year.
  • Cultivate relationships with donors through various events and communications and help maintain strong connection to JCP and within the member community to ensure continued support and engagement.
  • Help support fundraising and events committees of the Board of Directors as needed.
  • Serve as the point person for donor communications responding in a timely and courteous manner to all types of requests.
  • Ensure accuracy of donor information and manage the donor data management system.
  • Originate donor profiles as new members come to our community with a high level of attention to detail for each aspect of new donor profiles.
  • Conduct research and wealth screening to tee-up solicitations for the Executive Director, Rabbis and Development Staff.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of various gift types and the corresponding donor acknowledgement letters in a timely manner (24 - 48 hours)
  • Work alongside the Finance Team for monthly reconciliation and tax substantiation processes.
  • Submit written proposals to corporate and family foundations as needed.
  • Support membership tracking, renewals and support for ~300 member families.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2-3+ years of relevant experience in a fundraising or highly organized administrative role.
  • Strong writing and editing skills.
  • Commitment to accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Ability to change priorities in a high volume and fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of diverse public.
  • Ability to handle multiple concurrent assignments and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High level of initiative and creativity.
  • Self-motivated, outgoing and results oriented.
  • Knowledge of the Internet and software applications, including Google platform apps, Canva, Jot Form, MS Word, Power Point, and Excel.
  • Development database experience preferred – particularly HubSpot.
  • This is a fulltime job that will require 2-3 days onsite, as well as evening and weekend hours on a per-event basis.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.

Compensation: Generous benefits and time off. Hybrid work schedule.

Please note: this position requires some work on the evenings and weekends (including Shabbat and Jewish holidays) to support events as needed. 


Hiring Salary: $55,000 annually.
