Position Overview
Golda Och Academy is seeking a dynamic and thoughtful Upper School Jewish Studies teacher to join our faculty for the 2025–2026 school year. This educator will teach a range of middle and high school courses, with a focus on Tanakh and rabbinic literature, and help inspire students to engage meaningfully with Jewish ideas and values.
Responsibilities
- Teach middle and high school Jewish Studies courses, including Tanakh and rabbinic literature
- Foster a classroom environment that encourages critical thinking, discussion, and text-based learning
- Bring creativity and energy to student engagement, including participation in the school’s Tefilah program
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
- Integrate technology to enhance teaching and learning
- Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues
- Collaborate with faculty and contribute to the broader school community
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant teaching experience preferred
- Master’s degree and/or teaching certification preferred
- Strong background in Jewish Studies
- Ability to inspire students through thoughtful and engaging instruction
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Commitment to collaboration and professional growth
- Authorization to work in the United States required
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
Faculty must be able to perform the essential functions of the role, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may include:
