The Friends of the Academy of the Hebrew Language is seeking an experienced Executive Director/Resource Development Manager. We are looking for someone who feels strongly about the Hebrew language and culture, who believes in our mission, is aligned with our core values, and will demonstrate exceptional drive to further our existing fundraising efforts and help strategize and deliver critical new ones.


Skills and Abilities:

·       A self-starter and independent worker with a passion for fundraising.

·       Confident and curious, highly motivated and hard-working.

·       Reliable, well organized, with excellent time-management skills and ability to meet deadlines.

·       Able to think creatively and expansively about fundraising

·       Established relationships with potential donors, foundations and federations

·       Ability to work both as part of a team and independently with internal and external organizations

·       Familiar with the world of Jewish philanthropy

Areas of Responsibility:

·       Articulate the Academy's mission and vision to non-Israeli audiences and effectively convey them to potential donors.

·       Help expand the Friends' board and cultivating its members

·       Steward and maintain existing donor relations with individuals, foundations and federations.

·       Cultivate a network of dedicated donors and conduct donor appreciation and recognition

·       Research and find new prospects that may be interested in the Academy.

·       Craft grant applications, funding proposals and reports for all grants.

·       Keep a careful calendar of submission deadlines, reporting deadlines, etc.

 

Requirements:

·       At least 3-5 years of fundraising experience

·       Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.

·       Ability to collaborate with colleagues.

·       Strong attention to detail.

·       Adept at managing tasks, planning events, and balancing priorities.

·       Computer proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Office software and donor management systems

·       Mother tongue English and fluent Hebrew (speaking and reading); Fluent Hebrew writing an advantage

The position is part time and is open for candidates who live in the US.
The Resource Development Manager will report to and work closely with the Friends' board and the Academy's management.
