Or HaLev, Jewish Spirituality and Meditation, is seeking a retreat manager for a retreat that will take place on the West Coast in January 2026.

Introduction:

An Or HaLev meditation retreat provides a transformative experience focused on deepening participants' meditation practice within the framework of Jewish contemplative traditions. Held in serene environments, these retreats prioritize silence, seclusion, and various meditation techniques under the guidance of experienced Jewish meditation teachers. 

The retreat offers a unique integration of Jewish spirituality and mindfulness. It includes periods of seated and walking meditation, mindfulness in daily activities, chanting, and contemplative practices rooted in Jewish wisdom.

Participants engage in shared silence, fostering a sense of community, while post-retreat integration guidance helps weave these practices into their ongoing Jewish and contemplative journey.

Job Description: Meditation Retreat Producer and Manager

The Retreat Producer and Manager play a pivotal role in ensuring the success of our meditation retreats. This position involves comprehensive coordination, effective communication, and management of various aspects before, during, and after the retreat.

Key Responsibilities:.

  • Coordinate all aspects of the retreat, including services, logistics, and participant needs.
  • Liaise with and manage relationships with the retreat center, chef, mashgiach, and other service providers.
  • Handle all communication with potential and current participants.
  • Manage the registration process and recruit participants for the retreat.
  • Prepare necessary materials and attend to any other logistical or administrative needs.
  • Manage the retreat itself and address participant needs.
  • Responsible for recording and tracking all teachers' classes in the appropriate format and place.
  • Facilitate post-retreat written reports and reflection and contribute to the continuous improvement of future retreats.
  • Manage donations at the end of the retreat and follow up until all donations are received.

Qualifications: 

  • Prior experience with silent Mindfulness retreat. -Must 
  • Previous experience in event planning and production
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Previous experience in Or Halev silent meditation retreat -advantageous.

                              

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the Executive Director to determine the retreat's budget, prices, and available scholarships.
  • Collaborate with lead retreat teacher(s) to plan and execute all aspects of the retreat.
  • Coordinate with the community manager to recruit participants and with the digital content manager for marketing efforts.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director to control the retreat's budget, payments, and documentation.

Communication:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for all retreat-related inquiries.
  • Ensure timely and effective communication with participants and the Or HaLev team.

Post-Retreat Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate and participate in post-retreat reflection sessions.
  • Generate reports and assessments to evaluate the retreat's success and identify improvement areas.

Documentation:

  • Use Or HaLev's designated email ([email protected]) for all retreat-related communication.
  • Maintain organized documentation in the retreat folder, following provided protocols. 
  • Utilize resources such as the "Opening the Heart" folder for the West Coast retreat and sample retreat manager's task lists for reference

Compensation:

  • $5000-$7000
  • Travel expenses and approved budgeted retreat-related expenses will be reimbursed.
  • Bonuses or incentives may be provided based on the success of the retreat.
