0-3 Year Old Family Program Teacher/Generalist

Northern Virginia Hebrew Congregation in Reston, VA, is seeking an energetic, passionate, and engaging teacher for our Punims class. Punims is a small class for children ages 0-3 and their families. It is designed to help connect young families, introduce the basics of Judaism to the youngest members of our congregation, and most importantly, to be fun!

As the Punims teacher, you will:

• Develop fun, engaging lesson plans.
• Teach students about Shabbat, Jewish holidays, Jewish values, the synagogue, etc, through music, crafts, play, and more.
• Foster connections between families and children.

Punims meets for 90 minutes one Sunday each month, but there are many opportunities available for teachers interested in working every Sunday that we have school. Teachers who are available from 9:00am-12:00pm every Sunday are highly encouraged to apply!

Requirements:

• Previous experience working with young children and families.
• Knowledge of and enthusiasm for Jewish traditions and holidays.
• Desire to collaborate with other teachers and staff to develop an engaging, imaginative curriculum.
• Musical ability and/or knowledge of Jewish children's music is a bonus.

Pay starts at $35/hour and is negotiable.
