Digital Media and Communications Coordinator – Baltimore (MD) or Remote – 30 Hours per week

The Digital Media and Communications Coordinator will be responsible for implementing strategic initiatives and daily operations in the digital media space, including but not limited to social media platforms and email systems. The ideal candidate will be an energetic self-starter proficient in writing compelling copy that converts views and likes into clicks and reads. This position plays a crucial role in the day-to-day management and growth of BZD's social media presence. This work will require availability outside regular work hours to respond to breaking developments. This person should have experience driving marketing campaigns and communications toward various outcomes and should have an understanding of graphic design. In addition, they should be a critical and solutions-oriented thinker. The specific responsibilities outlined below are not exhaustive.

• Draft and post a steady stream of content on BZD's primary social media accounts that are consistent with the organization's
programmatic and advocacy priorities (Facebook, IG, Twitter, YouTube)
• Curating and posting multiple Instagram and FB "Stories" per day
• Closely follow relevant news and trending social media topics and develop BZD's response in collaboration with Executive Director
• Work swiftly to develop relevant content in light of breaking news
• Work to create actionable plans to both grow and maintain followers and convert followers into email constituents, activists, and donors
• Track the activities of other organizations active in our space
• Monitor, remove, and report comments, if necessary
• Stay up-to-date with current technologies and trends in social media that might be applicable for BZD (IG Reels as an example)
• Write, edit, and produce timely and inspiring digital content to engage BZD's diverse audiences and to support program, development,
• Build effective eblasts, social media posts, and other communications based on the BZD brand and communications calendar
• Creating Flyers & Graphics for BZD programs and events and all social media
• Providing general updates to the website
• Maintain and update the marketing calendar to set weekly and monthly communication for the BZD team


• One to two years' work experience in the field of communications and social media;
• Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects and to work both within teams and independently
• High standards of excellence, including extraordinary organizational skills and attention to detail
• Bachelor's degree;
• Grasp of current events, mainly as they affect the Jewish people and Israel;
• Experience using social media analytics
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills, especially across all levels of the organization, and pleasant demeanor;
• Flexible work style with the ability to work late and on weekends
• Ability to meet tight deadlines;
• Commitment to BZD's global mission and familiarity with the Jewish community.
• Strong writing skills
