Are you passionate about working with Jewish youth and creating meaningful, fun, and engaging experiences for teens? Temple Israel of Sharon is seeking a creative and enthusiastic Part-Time Youth Coordinator to help shape the next generation of Jewish leaders through teen programming and Sunday morning teaching.

About the Role: This dynamic role combines relationship-building with Jewish teens, informal education, and Sunday morning teaching with our 5th–7th grade students. As Youth Coordinator, you will foster a warm and inclusive Jewish community, lead inspiring programming, and collaborate with dedicated staff and clergy to bring our youth vision to life.

Key Responsibilities:

Sundays (9:00–11:30am):

  • Teach middle school students through interactive and engaging lessons on Jewish values, Torah, and holiday traditions.
  • Build meaningful relationships with students that extend beyond the classroom. Thursdays (2:30-5:30)
  • Support transportation to religious school from local schools.
  • Plan and implement weekly youth group programming for our 6th-8th graders.
  • Assist the Director of Youth Education and Engagement in the office. Teen Engagement (Flexible Hours):
  • Plan and lead 1–2 monthly events for 6th–12th graders, including social experiences, tikkun olam/service learning, holiday celebrations, and leadership development.
  • Promote events and programs to our teen community
  • Serve as a mentor and advisor to our teens, helping them grow as leaders and plan peer-driven programs.
  • Collaborate with regional USY and other youth groups to create opportunities for broader connection.

Additional Opportunities:

  • Assist in holiday programs, family programs, and special events throughout the year.
  • Optional: Lead Shabbat morning Junior Congregation for youth (prayer experience + Torah learning) if prayer leadership is a strength.

Who You Are:

  • You’re enthusiastic about Jewish life and love working with tweens and teens.
  • You have experience in youth engagement, Jewish education, summer camp, or a similar setting.
  • You’re organized, collaborative, and can take initiative on planning and executing programs.
  • You know how to create spaces where teens feel safe, seen, and excited to participate.

Job Details:

  • Part-Time Position (6–20 hours/week depending on availability).
  • Includes Sundays from 8:45–11:30am + flexible hours for staffing events, Thursdays youth group, Saturdays Jr. Congregation
  • $45/hour, with potential for additional hours as needed
  • Reports to the Director of Youth Education & Programming
  • Position begins late August 2025 and runs through May 2026
