Reports to: Rabbi
Employment Status: Part-time (15-20 hours per week)
FSLA Status: (non-exempt)
Salary Range: $27,500-$32,500

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Young Family (Children Age 0-5) Engagement Coordinator will serve as the lead program manager and point person for young family programming and engagement at Temple Sinai. This new role will develop programming for current and prospective Temple Sinai members to promote an increased sense of belonging for this member cohort, and create an engagement pathway for new families to become members in the temple community.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Serve as lead program manager for young family programming and engagement
  • Serve as front-facing point person for community members in this cohort (members and prospective members)
  • Coordinate Tot Shabbat and other young family programming, including participation by clergy
  • Develop parent ambassador and buddy family programs for this cohort
  • Work with the membership engagement coordinator to engage prospective members in this cohort; develop and execute a personalized engagement plan for each family
  • Work with director of communications and programs on messaging to young families; develop strategic, individualized communication
  • Serve as a connection point between Temple Sinai and Temple Sinai Nursery School (TSNS) to manage outreach and engagement for TSNS families throughout their nursery school journey
WORK REQUIREMENTS AND CONDITIONS
  • Exercise good and independent judgment in the performance of duties
  • Able to work flexible hours when necessary, including flexibility to attend/facilitate evening and weekend events
  • Ability to work productively with an array of internal and external individuals and groups including clergy, staff, and lay leaders
  • Position is based in temple offices and the coordinator will be required to spend significant time engaging in person at temple events, a portion of the work can also be completed remotely, consistent with Temple Sinai policy
  • Able to move around the building and lift and move necessary supplies up to 10 pounds
SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES
  • You enjoy engaging with families in group and 1:1 settings and and you’re a strong interpersonal communicator
  • You are passionate about engaging young families in the Jewish community
  • You are kind, friendly, and have a good sense of humor
  • You have experience managing projects and being a liaison with multiple stakeholders
  • You are self-directed, detail oriented and organized
  • You are creative and bring a big vision for the program, and are also willing to complete small tasks to get the job done
  • You have at least 5 years of experience in communications, community engagement or related field
  • You are familiar with the Jewish calendar and rituals preferred
  • You are proficient at utilizing computer programs for daily work, i.e. Microsoft Office Suite, file sharing such as Dropbox and Google Drive. Knowledge of database and calendar management systems as well as social media platforms
  • You have excellent problem-solving skills
  • You have excellent oral and written communication skills
