Temple Emanuel is looking to hire teachers for our Sunday morning religious school program for the
2023/2024 school year. The focus of our program is to give our students the tools to become
successful Jewish adults. We prepare our students for the world by teaching them to cultivate
compassion, empathy and practical skills through Project Based Learning paired with
interdisciplinary STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) education. We
teach our students how to weave their Jewish identity into their 21st-century selves to discover a life
full of meaning.
You are a good candidate for this position if you are:
Creative, growth-minded, enthusiastic and knowledgeable about Jewish education
Organized, detail oriented and a self-starter
Comfortable interacting with students, teacher and parents
Job Details
On site teaching Sunday mornings 9:00AM - 12:15PM
Plan written lessions
Compose brief class update emails to families
Attend staff meetings/professional development meetings (approximately every 6 weeks)
Knowledge of, and passion for teaching our Jewish practices and history
Classroom lmanagement skills
Ability to teach basic Hebrew skills is preferred
Experience with Project Based Learning is preferred
Salary commensurate with experience
