About CAMERA: Founded in 1982, the Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting and Analysis (CAMERA) is a global, non-partisan, media-monitoring, research organization devoted to promoting accurate and balanced coverage of Israel and the Middle East within the mainstream media, social media, and education.
Position Summary
We’re seeking a creative Social Media Content Creator to grow CAMERA’s visibility and increase engagement across key digital platforms. The role focuses on translating CAMERA’s in-depth research and educational work into clear, engaging content for social media, while exposing organizations and individuals that try to masquerade antisemitism as legitimate, political critique. The Content Creator will serve as a key member of a broader, burgeoning social media team and will be tasked with breaking down complex ideas into posts that capture the attention of our followers with different levels of knowledge and interest. The right candidate will have a strong grasp of digital communication and a commitment to CAMERA’s mission of ensuring accuracy about Israel and the Arab-Israeli conflict.
Responsibilities
Create compelling written and visual content for CAMERA’s social media platforms (e.g. X, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn) to amplify messaging, accomplishments and events from across the organization. Transform CAMERA’s research into clear and engaging social media posts, presenting complex ideas in a way that can connect with everyone from historians to journalists to teenagers.
Partner with the video production team to ideate on concepts and drive up engagement with final output across aforementioned platforms, plus TikTok and YouTube.
Collaborate with personnel across CAMERA’s Communications, News Media, and Education departments to ensure accuracy, clarity, timeliness and strategic alignment. Serve as a social media ambassador to one or more of these stakeholder groups, facilitating collaboration and joint prioritization across departments.
Track and respond to trends, news, and online discourse related to Israel and the Arab-Israeli conflict. Leverage awareness to ensure content and approach are culturally relevant to maximize impact (e.g. Impressions, Interactions).
Maintain consistency with CAMERA’s brand and messaging, while utilizing targeted experimentation with new approaches to bolster performance.
Required Qualifications
Excellent reading comprehension and storytelling skills, with ability to extract key themes from dense writing, connect the dots, and convey complex concepts in a simple and engaging way.
Strong inter-personal and stakeholder management skills, with ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment and across departments.
Creative problem-solving skills, with demonstrated success identifying opportunities, developing ideas, testing hypotheses and implementing innovative solutions.
3+ years of content on social media, preferably concerning Israel, the Arab-Israeli conflict, Zionism, and antisemitism.
Familiarity with media bias issues, Israel, the Arab-Israeli conflict, and antisemitism.
Proficiency with digital tools, such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or equivalent.
Organized, detail-oriented, and responsive to the fast-paced news cycle, with occasional need for flexibility on work hours to respond to urgent news developments.
Strong commitment to CAMERA’s mission.
Preferred Skills
Experience in designing and evaluating practical experiments to develop best practices and help guide decision making.
Familiarity with social media scheduling and analytics tools.
Experience producing short-form video (TikTok/Reels/YouTube Shorts).
Spanish, Hebrew and/or Arabic language skills are a plus.
