About SAMi

SAMi Sephardic American Mizrahi Initiative is the first national 501c3 organization that focuses on engaging, supporting, educating, and empowering the richly diverse underrepresented, unengaged, and ignored Sephardic and Mizrahi college students on campuses. SAMi aims to serve their needs and support them while they are going through college in their formative years. SAMi strengthens their unique identities, giving them confidence in their voice while encouraging them and integrating them into the larger Jewish community.

SAMi is currently looking for an Executive Assistant to lead our expansion efforts across the United States. This role will work closely with our Executive Director and existing National Rabbinic Fellow and is scheduled to start in the Fall of 2025, with onboarding planned for the preceding Summer. We are specifically seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual, educator, or recent graduate, capable of committing 40 hours per week to building and strengthening SAMi's presence on college campuses nationwide.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in engaging Sephardic students on college campuses through SAMi’s Leadership Programs.
  • Assist and cultivate meaningful relationships with students to establish SAMi HUBs nationwide.
  • Assist in identifying campuses with a significant Sephardic student presence to integrate SAMi into local communities.
  • Develop compelling "educational posts" for Instagram and Facebook, covering diverse minhagim, holiday themes, and weekly parashah; crafting visually appealing content with succinct text, including pesuqim/halachot.
  • Identify and engage key stakeholders within the broader Sephardic community to promote SAMi's distinctive mission and message.
  • Collaborate effectively within the expanding National team to achieve organizational objectives.
  • Maintain a base in either the NYC or Boston area, conducting regular campus visits weekly or bi-weekly to foster student connections and engagement.

Please submit your resume and two professional references to [email protected]

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited University, with active involvement in the local Jewish community.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with 2-5 years of experience in recruitment, social media management, engagement, education, and student interaction.
  • Proven ability to manage projects, budgets, and teams effectively.
  • Two professional references: one from a rabbinic source and one from a professional or academic setting.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle, as extensive travel is a requirement of the role.
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills, coupled with a keen eye for detail.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.
  • A data-driven approach with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Genuine alignment with and support for SAMi's Vision.

Benefits include, but are not limited to:

  • Ability to work remotely
  • Employer-sponsored 3% annual 401K contribution with no required employee contribution
  • Annual $150 technology stipend reimbursement
  • $200 home office setup stipend reimbursement.
  • Up to 25 days off for Jewish and secular holidays.
  • Unlimited sick time
  • This is a full-time role, 40 hours per week.
