Position: Elementary and Middle School Music and Song Leader (Parental Leave-Replacement)

Supervisor: Rebecca Hammerman, Head of Elementary Division/ Sally Meisner, Head of Middle School

Schedule: Full-time/ Temporary (Parental Leave-Replacement) 

Start: September 1, 2025 - October 31, 2025

ABOUT YOU

The ideal candidate will have experience teaching elementary tefillah and Kabbalat Shabbat and middle school music, and have successful experience working with elementary and middle school-aged children and their families. They should be adaptable, collaborative, proactive, personable, and warm.

 

WORK SCHEDULE

Working hours are generally 7:40 AM  to 3:45 PM; additional hours may be required in the evenings. Teachers are expected to attend faculty meetings on Thursdays from 3:45 PM until 5:00 PM. 

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Teach music to middle school students.
  • Lead tefillah and weekly shabbat for elementary and middle school students.
  • Work collaboratively with Romance Language department members, and Chair, and other teaching teams on initiatives around pedagogy and curriculum.
  • Additional responsibilities, as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Enjoys working with elementary and middle school-aged children, working closely with colleagues, and being involved in other aspects of school life.
  • Shows an appreciation for the craft of teaching, along with a passion for and knowledge of elementary and middle school music and prayer.
  • Has excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Kind and possesses a healthy sense of humor.
  • Supports the mission, vision, values, and commitments as outlined on our “About” website page.
  • Demonstrates flexibility and ability to take initiative and follow through on projects.
  • Possesses good judgment.
  • Advanced degree or equivalent experience.

 

SALARY & BENEFITS 

  • Salary range: Prorated salary based on an annual salary range of $60,000-$90,000; commensurate with experience. *Base faculty salaries do not reflect additional compensation based on degree level and stipends.
  • Generous paid time off (e.g., sick and personal days, holidays). 
  • Complimentary lunch.
