Senior Director of Operations

Do you want to help make our JCC the most organized, welcoming, well-run community hub in town?

At the JCC, we do a little bit of everything—preschool in the morning, pickleball in the afternoon, basketball in the gym, and dance classes in the evenings. We’re a hub of activity, connection, and joy—and we’re looking for a Senior Director of Operations to help keep it all running smoothly (without losing their cool or their coffee).

This is a second-in-command leadership role for someone who knows how to turn chaos into calm, who thrives on to-do lists and team huddles, and who doesn’t flinch when asked where the tables are stored (again). You’ll be the go-to for making things happen—from building logistics to program support—so our staff and members can focus on what they do best: building community.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Make the JCC hum. Oversee all the operational behind-the-scenes magic.
• Be the right hand to the Executive Director—keeping the big picture in mind while managing the nitty-gritty.
• Collaborate with program directors to make sure events, classes, and camp all have what they need—on time, on budget, and with plenty of folding chairs.
• Bring order to the universe. Or at least to our calendar, inventory, and vendor list.

You Might Be Our Person If You:

• Have at least 10 years of experience in operations—bonus points if it’s in a nonprofit or community-based setting.
• Are equal parts planner, fixer, and people-person.
• Can lead a team, manage a budget, negotiate with vendors, and find that one missing tablecloth—all before lunch.
• Love checklists, spreadsheets, and making things run better than before.
• Don’t need to manage IT or security—but you know who to call if the Wi-Fi crashes.
• Have a soft spot for community spaces and the joyful chaos of a JCC.
