Ramat Shalom Synagogue, located in Plantation, Florida is seeking part-time, in-person, Hebrew and Judaic studies teachers to teach weekly Sunday morning Torah School (9:30 AM- 12 PM) and/or Wednesday evenings (6 PM- 7:30 PM), twice a month, startng August 21, 2022 through May 21, 2023. Teachers should expect to be on site by 9:00 AM.

The congregation of Ramat Shalom is looking for vibrant and enthusiastic educators with a strong knowledge of Jewish customs, values, traditions, and Torah. Candidates should be passionate about fostering Jewish youth identity and creating a sense of belonging to the larger Jewish community. 

Duties of this position include:

  • Teaching Hebrew/Judaics in accordance with curriculum pace. Teacher is required to have experience in reading/writing Hebrew.
  • Planning meaningful and hands-on learning activities that can be adapted for students with varying learning styles. Teacher should have an educational background and feel comfortable implementing a variety of learning methods.
  • Monitoring student learning outcomes and adjusting curriculum, as needed.
  • Comfort with technology.
