Position Overview 

We are seeking an enthusiastic educator to join our Religious School faculty as a teacher for our Kindergarten/1st Grade class, for the 2025-26 school year (September-May). This role is perfect for someone who loves working with young children and wants to help them develop a joyful connection to Judaism. 

Schedule: Sundays, 8:45 AM - 1:00 PM (approximately 24 Sundays per school year)

  • Two teaching sessions: 8:45-10:45 AM and 11:00 AM-1:00 PM 
  • Same lesson taught to different group of students each session 
  • Includes classroom time plus "specials" (prayer, music, Hebrew with specialists) 

What You'll Be Doing 

  • Create warm, welcoming classroom environments where every child feels they belong 
  • Teach about Jewish holidays and celebrations using our "Torah Play" approach 
  • Lead activities filled with songs, art, play, and joy that foster wonder and exploration 
  • Teach basic Hebrew letter recognition and Jewish life vocabulary 
  • Work with students of all different learning styles and needs 
  • Follow provided curricular outlines and utilize Temple Isaiah resources 

What We're Looking For 

  • Genuine enthusiasm for working with young children (ages 5-7) 
  • Experience in Jewish educational settings (synagogue, camp, day school, etc.) 
  • Ability to work with diverse learning styles and needs 
  • Commitment to creating inclusive, joyful learning experiences 

Compensation: 

  • $50-72/hour, commensurate with experience 
  • Transportation reimbursement may be available 
  • Additional work opportunities may be available, such as assisting for monthly Friday evening Tot Shabbat programs
