Position Overview

Reporting to the Chief Advancement Officer, The Jewish Education Project seeks a highly strategic, creative, data-driven, and collaborative marketing professional to lead the agency’s brand evolution and shape a cutting-edge, long-term marketing strategy for the organization. This person will help define and amplify our value and impact to our key stakeholders - funders, Jewish educators, and the broader Jewish community - to position us for significant national revenue growth and long-term sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Creative and Strategic Vision: Develop and implement a comprehensive, multiplatform, data-driven marketing and communications strategy that increases our visibility, and that aligns with the organization’s objectives for fundraising, national expansion, and as the leading provider of best-in-class Jewish professional development resources.
  • Brand Leadership: Spearhead the evolution of the agency’s brand identity and refine our unique value proposition. Be a lead ambassador for the brand and ensure brand alignment across key initiatives such as our Adapting Podcast, annual fundraising gala, extensive educator programs, and more. Create processes and guidelines that ensure consistency of voice and style across all platforms.
  • Cutting-Edge Techniques: Leverage the most current marketing techniques, including social media and other strategies, to build and reinforce our brand position and increase our influence in the field.
  • Chief Storyteller: Bring the magic of the brand to life with breakthrough stories and bold communications. Direct an annual PR strategy that elevates the agency across the ecosystem of Jewish and secular media, conferences, events, and influencer platforms. Infuse a sense of urgency around the agency’s work to help expand our national funding and be adept at leading crisis communications and other rapid response.
  • Cross Functional Communication:  Partner closely with key executives (Program, Development, Research, Finance) to stay plugged into top agency priorities, audience trends, the competitive landscape, and shifting developments in Jewish education.
  • Data-Driven Strategist: Lead with data-driven strategies to increase donor and foundation support, grow our organic channels, build brand awareness, and measure success. Familiarity with Salesforce, Pardot, and Google Analytics a plus.
  • Team Champion: Lead and support our 3-member marketing and communications team to ensure they have clarity of purpose and priorities and are set up to contribute to the agency’s success.
  • External Vendor Relations: Manage the agency’s working relationship with current external marketing and communications vendors and determine the need for utilizing external agencies vs. scaling the internal marketing team moving forward.
