Position Overview 

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated educator to join our Religious School faculty as an Inclusion Assistant/Student Support Teacher for the 2025-26 school year (September-May). This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about ensuring every child can access meaningful Jewish learning experiences and wants to help create inclusive classroom environments where all students thrive. 

Schedule Options: 

  • Sundays: 8:45 AM - 1:00 PM (approximately 24 Sundays per school year)
  • Two teaching sessions: 8:45-10:45 AM and 11:00 AM-1:00 PM 
  • Wednesdays: 4:00 PM - 5:30 PM (approximately 26 Wednesdays per school year)
  • Preference for candidates available both days, but will consider single-day availability 

What You'll Be Doing 

  • Provide individualized 1:1 support for students with diverse learning needs 
  • Assist classroom teachers in creating inclusive learning environments for all students 
  • Support students with different learning styles, developmental needs, and abilities 
  • Help facilitate smooth transitions between activities and classroom spaces 
  • Work collaboratively with classroom teachers to implement accommodations and modifications 
  • Foster each child's sense of belonging and successful participation in Jewish learning 
  • Follow guidance from the Director of Inclusion regarding student support strategies 

What We're Looking For 

  • Genuine passion for working with children and supporting their individual needs 
  • Interest in working with children in Jewish educational settings 
  • Commitment to creating inclusive, welcoming learning experiences 
  • Patience, flexibility, and ability to adapt to different situations 
  • Willingness to learn and grow in understanding diverse learning needs 

Preferred (but not required) qualifications: 

  • Experience in special education or student support roles 
  • Background working with children with disabilities 
  • Classroom aide or educational assistant experience 
  • Experience in Jewish educational settings (synagogue, camp, day school, etc.) 

Compensation: 

  • $25-40/hour, commensurate with experience 
  • Transportation reimbursement may be available 
  • Additional work opportunities may be available, such as assisting for monthly Friday evening Tot Shabbat programs
