Job Title: Lower School General Studies Teacher

Job Summary and Scope of Responsibility:
Bernard Zell Anshe Emet Day School seeks an experienced, innovative, and energetic Lower School teacher to join our expert faculty beginning in the fall of 2025. The teacher would be a part of a general studies team and also work collaboratively with a Jewish Studies Teacher.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Teach, guide, and inspire students in general studies subject areas (reading, writing, math, and social studies).
- Differentiate instruction for a wide range of students’ abilities and interests.
- Assess students, make student learning visible, and write narrative progress reports.
- Communicate regularly with parents via online updates, phone calls, emails, and in person.
- Collaborate with Hebrew and Jewish Studies teachers, Student Services providers, specialist teachers, and outside specialists to coordinate individual educational plans.
- Work productively on a team to promote student success.
- Other duties as assigned in support of the greater school community.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education?:
- Bachelor’s degree required; M.A. preferred
Experience:
- At least two (2) years of lead teacher classroom experience preferred
- Experience with Responsive Classroom and social-emotional teaching required
- Experience providing a nurturing, creative, and inclusive environment in a strong classroom community
- Experience teaching phonics/word study
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities?:
- Knowledge of Common Core Math Standards preferred
- Knowledge of best practice in Literacy instruction aligned with the Science of Reading
- Ability to embrace technology and new ways of extending students' learning; knowledge of interactive whiteboard technology, iPads, and Chromebooks
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and administration to support and extend student learning and curricular objectives required
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Willingness to learn and grow professionally
- Willingness to support the mission and vision of Bernard Zell
Compensation: Bernard Zell offers competitive compensation, excellent benefits, and a supportive workplace culture. The salary range for this position is $52,284 - $84,256
