Donna Klein Jewish Academy (DKJA), a premier K–12 college preparatory Jewish day school in Boca Raton, FL, is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Hebrew as a Second Language High School Teacher to join our vibrant Hebrew faculty. This position is available for an immediate start, offering an exciting opportunity for an educator who is passionate about Hebrew language, Israeli culture, and inspiring students to connect deeply with both through engaging, communicative instruction.

 

Position Overview

The Hebrew as a Second Language Teacher will deliver high-quality instruction using the MATCH Hebrew curriculum, creating an immersive and supportive environment that encourages active language use and cultural appreciation. The ideal candidate is collaborative, student-centered, and enthusiastic about bringing modern Hebrew to life in and beyond the classroom.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach 4–5 sections of Hebrew language to high school students.
  • Implement and adapt the MATCH Hebrew curriculum to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
  • Create a classroom culture that fosters curiosity, confidence, and proficiency in Hebrew.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to promote interdisciplinary and cultural connections throughout the school.
  • Participate actively in departmental and school-wide meetings, initiatives, and professional learning.
  • Contribute to the broader Hebrew and Israel programming at DKJA, including school events and celebrations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred (in Teaching Hebrew as a Second Language, Education, or related field).
  • Demonstrated experience teaching Hebrew as a second language to high school students, preferably in a Jewish day school or similar educational setting.
  • Native Hebrew and strong command of English.
  • Strong classroom management, organizational, and communication skills.
  • A passion for connecting students with modern Hebrew, Israeli culture, and Jewish identity.
  • Commitment to collaboration, continuous learning, and professional growth.
