Position Details:

Job Description: Kadima Day School is seeking an exuberant and talented individual to serve as its lead admissions and marketing professional. Reporting directly to the Head of School, and serving as an integral member of the leadership team, the Director of Admissions and Marketing will be responsible for developing and implementing plans to strengthen the school’s brand among target audiences and for directing the admissions process. From outreach to inquiry to enrollment, the Director of Admissions and Marketing is the face of Kadima. Successful candidates must bring a strong knowledge of the admissions field and proven experience managing the marketing and communications departments of a nonprofit organization.
Key Responsibilities:

- To oversee the program of admissions of new students to the school from point of inquiry through enrollment.

- To represent the school to prospective candidates and their families, primarily through tours of the school, personal interviews, parlor meetings, admission fairs, open houses, response to questions, and personal outreach.

- To manage the process of admissions including:

o Efficient and responsive handling of applications and communication with candidates and their parents;
o Overseeing and coordinating the work of the admissions committee;
o Interviews with candidates and their parents;
o Arrangements for admissions testing;
o Securing of necessary student credentials; and
o Communicating final decisions to the appropriate individuals.

- To create appropriate admissions and marketing materials, mailings, and publications in print and online, including managing and updating the school website.

- To evaluate continually and redesign, where appropriate, all aspects of the admissions and marketing program in order to achieve a capacity enrollment of mission-appropriate students.

- To manage the re-recruitment of current students for the succeeding year, including continuously monitoring attrition risks and coordinating re-enrollment processes.

- To coordinate continuous outreach and touch points for transfer families during their first year in the school.

- To increase awareness of the Kadima brand through campaigns that integrate traditional and social media, communications, advertising, and direct marketing.

- To identify challenges and emerging issues that may affect parent confidence and loyalty, work with the leadership team and staff to recognize internal and external communications opportunities and solutions, and define and execute appropriate strategies to support them.

- To serve as the school’s Director of Communication, managing the flow of information to parents and other constituencies, overseeing the weekly newsletter, editing and writing school-wide communications as needed, and ensuring that the school’s communication strategies are timely and effective

Specific Responsibilities:

- Coordinate and lead special events involving prospective students. Assist in all school events, with a focus on the parent experience.

- Promote good relationships with outside institutions or groups (preschools, synagogues, schools, educational counselors, pediatricians, real estate agencies, etc.) which can be helpful in attracting quality students.

- Work with members of the administration and faculty to organize specific retention efforts at key grade levels.

- Prepare and maintain statistics regarding enrollment, geographical distribution of students, financial aid, and attrition. Interpret these statistics, when appropriate to the administration, faculty, and board of trustees.

- Develop promotional publications and materials that interpret the school to prospective students and their families.

- Recruit, train, and oversee a network of parent ambassadors and other admissions volunteers.

- Oversee Kadima’s social media strategy, and work in coordination with our consultation company.

- Serve on the management team, reporting directly to the head of school.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred

- Minimum of 3 years’ experience holding progressively responsible positions in admissions, nonprofit management, and/or marketing

- Demonstrated experience and leadership in managing a strategic recruitment, admissions, and marketing program

- A passion for Kadima’s mission, vision, and accomplishments

- Superior interpersonal skills: warm, friendly demeanor, ability to connect with people, great listening skills, an abundance of patience and compassion, excellence in relationship building

- Team player. We are a highly collaborative environment, and a successful candidate would have the ability to accomplish tasks both solo and with partners (professional or lay).

- Innovative thinking with a track record for translating strategic thinking into action plans and results

- Connection to and genuine understanding of the Israeli-American community, which constitutes a significant part of the Kadima demographic.

- Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills

- Ability to make decisions in a changing environment and anticipate future needs

- Superior management skills, including organizational skills, ability to juggle numerous tasks and prioritize, manage a full schedule, respond timely to communications, and set short-term and long-term goals

- Hebrew fluency strongly preferred
