We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven sales professional to oversee our Kornick & Berliner Monument location in Chicago on Devon Ave. Serving the Chicago Jewish community and families since 1929, we are proud to be the largest family-owned cemetery headstone/monument company in the nation! The ideal candidate will be responsible for establishing and cultivating relationships with area funeral homes, cemetery sextons and families in order to provide customized products and services to meet our customers’ needs. This role requires exceptional entrepreneurship skills and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.

What will you do in this position?

  • Based at our Chicago showroom on Devon Ave, you will sell our products and services to help families while also assisting funeral directors and cemetery sextons with their sales orders.
  • Provide superior customer service addressing customer inquiries with sensitivity and professionalism.
  • Create/Design personalized cemetery headstone designs following cemetery regulations and customer input.
  • Process sales orders, including specifying all necessary details of materials, style, measurement, finish, and design in our customized state-of-the-art ERP system.
  • Follow up on the status of sales orders, take customer payments; correspond to prospective customers, and finalize orders.
  • Visit area cemeteries in designated areas to identify granite to be matched, verify inscriptions, take rubbings and photos in order to complete a sales order.

What are we looking for in this role?

  • General understanding of Hebrew language and/or Jewish customs.
  • Previous retail or commission sales required.
  • Entrepreneurship mentality taking ownership of the overall success of the location.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Attention to detail and precision in completing tasks.
  • Ability to work independently with reliable attendance.
  • Strong computer skills (SAP/ERP experience helpful).

  • Schedule will consist of working 9:00am – 5:00pm five days a week Monday – Thursday and Friday 9:00am -4:00pm.
