Young Family (0 – 5) Program Coordinator & Toddler Preschool Teacher
We are looking for a dynamic and engaging professional to coordinate young family programming and to teach in a preschool classroom setting.

Temple Emanuel strives to be a destination for young families, a hub of activity, and a thriving engaged preschool and community. The Young Family (0 – 5) Program Coordinator & Toddler Preschool Teacher will serve as a highly visible, warm, and friendly liaison between our preschool community, the greater Boston/Newton community, and the synagogue community.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for designing, implementing, and staffing comprehensive year-round programming for young families and creating opportunities for parents and children to connect with each other and with Judaism in fun, exciting and energetic ways.
  • Works closely with Preschool Director, Engagement Director, and other Temple Emanuel staff to build visibility for the Preschool and Temple Emanuel early childhood communities.
  • Plans and delivers lessons designed to facilitate students' social, emotional, and cognitive development.
  • Encourages self-expression through understanding, flexibility, and behavioral reinforcement.
  • Mediates conflict between students and models appropriate behaviors.
  • Attends parent and staff meetings.

Requirements:

  • The ideal candidate for this position is warm, approachable, detail oriented, a creative thinker, passionate, organized and loves engaging with individuals, families and young children.
  • Experience in early childhood (EEC Certification)
  • BA degree preferred
  • Jewish Engagement or other related experience preferred.
  • Ability to work during evenings and on weekends, as required.
