Grow Legacy Giving and Shape the Jewish Future

The Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County is seeking a visionary, donor-centric Director of Foundation Giving to lead our planned giving strategy and expand our impact for generations to come. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of philanthropy, strategy, and legacy—building relationships that help sustain Jewish life locally, nationally, and globally.

As a key member of our development team, the Director will lead efforts to cultivate, secure, and steward legacy and endowment gifts through bequests, donor-advised funds, charitable trusts, and other planned giving vehicles. This is a unique opportunity to partner with passionate donors, expert advisors, and communal leaders to create lasting philanthropic legacies that reflect deep Jewish values.

Role and Impact

The Director of Foundation Giving will drive the development and implementation of a comprehensive planned giving program, working closely with high-net-worth individuals, estate professionals, and internal colleagues. Reporting to the Vice President of Foundation, this leader will manage a portfolio of legacy donors, oversee educational campaigns, and strengthen the Federation’s assets under management—ensuring the long-term sustainability of our work.

This position is ideal for a strategic thinker and relationship-builder who is deeply motivated by meaningful, long-term impact. With a strong understanding of planned giving vehicles and donor motivations, the Director will help shape the Jewish community’s philanthropic future.

Key Responsibilities

Planned Giving Strategy & Execution

  • Lead the strategy, marketing, and execution of the Federation’s planned giving initiatives
  • Build and manage a portfolio of prospects and donors, developing tailored cultivation and stewardship plans
  • Partner with the broader development team to integrate legacy giving into campaign strategies

Professional Advisor Engagement

  • Serve as the primary liaison to the Federation’s Professional Advisory Committee (PAC)
  • Cultivate relationships with attorneys, accountants, financial planners, and wealth advisors
  • Plan and implement educational programs and donor engagement events for PAC members

Donor Education, Stewardship & Recognition

  • Prepare custom materials and presentations to support planned giving conversations
  • Implement recognition strategies and stewardship programs for legacy donors
  • Develop and distribute educational resources on charitable giving vehicles and philanthropic impact

Thrive in This Role If You Have:

  • A bachelor’s degree (CFRE or fundraising certification preferred)
  • 5–7+ years of nonprofit development experience, with a strong preference for planned giving or estate planning
  • Deep knowledge of legacy giving tools such as bequests, trusts, and donor-advised funds
  • Exceptional interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills
  • Experience managing donor portfolios and working with high-net-worth individuals
  • Supervisory experience and the ability to lead collaborative cross-functional initiatives
  • A connection to Jewish communal life and values is a plus
