PAY: $22/Hour 

START DATE: March 2022 

LOCATION: Must be available in-person to the Brooklyn, Queens or nearby surrounding area

The New York Growth Specialist plays a key role in the success of BBYO by working closely with teens to create strong programs, develop leadership skills and make their chapters great. This is an amazing opportunity to make an impact in the Brooklyn, Queens, LI and beyond?area by engaging with and inspiring Jewish teens to do great things.

We do this challenging and invigorating work through our partners in more than 725 local, teen-led chapters across nearly 60 countries, at hundreds of weekend retreats during the school year and across a rapidly growing suite of global exchanges, campaigns and movement initiatives all year-round. Over the summer, we run dozens of immersive experiences including extensive Israel travel, missions and community tours across six continents, and a myriad of leadership camps. What You’ll Get to Do as a NY Growth Specialist: 

  • Work directly with teens to create impactful, fun and dynamic programs and calendars on the grassroots level (chapters) 
  • Mentor teens and deliver leadership training focused on engagement, recruitment and retention. 
  • Tell the BBYO story through social media 
  • Manage and train volunteers 
  • Recruit new members to join BBYO and to attend summer programs 
  • Attend Regional Events (as needed) 
  • Host weekly engagement events in Brooklyn, Queens and Great Neck 
  • Develop and execute membership growth strategies for Brooklyn and Queens as well as specified New York focus chapters in surrounding areas

  • How to run a small business as you develop skills in budgeting, membership, marketing, sales, HR and event planning 
  • How to analyze and track data to drive decision making 
  • Global thinking as you work with an international team across organizational and geographical boundaries

  • Relationship building as you network with and travel to other BBYO communities 

Job Requirements: 

  • 0- 3 years of work experience 
  • A bachelor's degree or higher 
  • Experience with youth or teens is preferred. 
  • Ability to transport self to chapter meetings
