The Development Associate will play a crucial role in the success and execution of all of Moriah’s campaign fundraising. They will collaborate with the Director of Development on overall vision, planning, strategy, and growth of charitable giving to the school.

  • Availability to work on occasional nights and weekends
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Previous office experience required. Experience in an academic or development office or school environment is a plus. 
  • Salary to commensurate with experience 

 Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  •  Assist Director of Development on the strategic implementation of Annual Campaign, Capital Campaign and Endowment fundraising 
  • Work with the Director of Development to plan, implement and manage a comprehensive annual campaign that focuses on increasing gifts across the board, and growing constituent engagement  through our Grandparent Circle and Alumni Association 
  • Manage data and workflow for each campaign and solicitation committee
  • Prepare for all in-person fundraising and cultivation briefings and solicitations
  • Coordinate development department events and programming, including but not limited to the Annual Dinner, Summer Golf Outing, parlor meetings, reunions, etc. 

       

Fundraising- Cultivation, Solicitation and Stewardship. Work with the Director of Development to:

  • Identify new prospects and create appropriate cultivate plan
  • Expand stewardship opportunities for current donors and work with the Director of Development to provide regular written updates to individual, corporate and foundation donors

 

 Event Programming: This includes all programming related to fundraising, cultivation and stewardship events, and understanding the institutional perspective and goal for each event  

 

  • Work with the Director of Development to expand outreach and programming to engage non-parent constituencies (PofA, prospective parents, grandparents, alumni) and oversee the planning and execution of all programs.  
  • Manage event budgets, including submitting purchase orders for all vendors  
  • Manage all event operations in preparation and day-of (preparing venue, invitations, name tags, decor, SWAG, etc.) 
  • Manage event inventory- packing, shipping with facilities teams
  • Create meeting agenda, take notes, share deadline reminders  



Database and Reporting. 

Based on database experience initial responsibilities will include:

  • Begin training in Raiser’s Edge 
  • Manage basic data entry and updates of constituent records to ensure accurate data for both constituent records and donations
  • Processes donations capturing all contribution and donor information.  
  • Maintain schedule for timely distribution of pledge confirmation emails, drafting of weekly acknowledgement letters, and monthly invoicing on all open pledges, both mailed and via email.

 

Future responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

Database: and Reporting

    • Manage Development database, including global changes, gift entry, reporting, queries, etc. 
    •  Processes all donations capturing all contribution and donor information.  
    • Oversee the gift process from start t o finish from pledge confirmation emails, acknowledgement letters, and billing both mailed and via email.
    • Collaborate with the Business Office personnel to reconcile and monthly development financials.

 

  •  Provide ongoing reporting on:

 

    • Data Analysis (active, inactive, LYBUNT, SYBUNT) on donor giving, and track campaign progress, as well as maintain accurate record keeping in the database for our constituencies, including alumni, parents of alumni, and grandparent communities. This includes, but not limited to, contact and professional information, relationships, education, and biographical data.
    • Track statistics relevant to development and provide department reports to the Director of Development, as needed 
    • Efficiently produce queries and reports, including those used to generate mailing information.
    • Develop, run, and review routine donor and gift reporting audits to ensure accurate gift entry and acknowledgment.
