Camp Solomon Schechter has a 65-year tradition of fun, friendship, and Jewish education in the Pacific Northwest. CSS is an independent and welcoming community that offers innovative Jewish experiences for 1st-11th graders of all backgrounds and denominations. While our largest numbers of campers come from Washington, Oregon, and British Columbia, we serve Jewish communities from all around the world.
Camp Solomon Schechter is located in Olympia, WA. Our spectacular 180-acre wooded facility features breathtaking scenery and our very own lake, where campers can swim, boat, and play on Clark the Aqua Park! The natural beauty of our forests and protected wetlands is the perfect background for our exciting outdoor teva (nature) program. We also have our own campsite and two beachheads along the banks of the Deschutes River.
At Camp Solomon Schechter, we emphasize the values of integrity, derech eretz (respect), gimmilut chasadim (acts of loving kindness) and tikkun olam (repairing the world). We do this through sports, omanut (arts), limmud (Jewish education) and teva (nature) to create our ideal Jewish community. Camp Solomon Schechter aims to build Jewish identity, and enable young people to grow and discover talents and abilities they never knew they had.
