Location: Remote/US Based
Reporting to the Director of Development, the position will play a key role in directly overseeing all stages of key, assigned development initiatives while also supporting the implementation of projects led by colleagues. Portfolio projects may include program and event management, donor recognition and acknowledgment systems, and campaign initiatives (e.g., crowdfunding). Responsible for developing and overseeing work plans, collaborating with finance and marketing, ensuring project milestones are met, and creating relevant reports. Also works closely with the Director of Development to assist in the design and implementation of the overall department strategy.
Serves as a lead project manager on all Development programs and activities (i.e. crowdfunding campaign, auction, major donor trips and events, regional events, & conference receptions) ensuring thorough workplans are created, project roles are clear, budgets are developed and maintained, deadlines are managed, and project hurdles are quickly and effectively resolved.
Works collaboratively across the organization with a focus on marketing and finance, to ensure the smooth implementation of fund raising campaigns including online giving, direct mail, and an annual donor stewardship communications initiative.
Researches, benchmarks, initiates and manages a comprehensive stewardship and donor recognition system that appropriately and consistently promotes interaction with and recognition of donors at all levels.
Supports the Director of Development in creating the annual development strategy and workplan for the organization including best practice research, plan development, presentation materials, and implementation tracking.
Supports company-wide programs (e.g., conferences) as a representative of the development team and participates on cross-team projects and committees.
Oversees the donor acknowledgment process to ensure that all donors are thanked in personal, timely, accurate and appropriate manner. Serves as a liaison to the finance and accounting team pertaining to account statements, pledge and gift processing
Conducts prospect research and prepares trip leaders for development discussions with trip participants.
Serves as an account manager to key staff and lay leaders by conducting relevant research, maintaining prospect and donor portfolio status, preparing presentations, communicating with donors and scheduling relevant meetings.
Provides targeted administrative support to the development team as needed in areas such as: scheduling, note taking, gift and expense processing.

Bachelor’s degree required
At least 4-6 years of experience in relevant development roles
Experience managing projects and developing annual work plans.
Excellent PC literacy with strong competency in all Microsoft Office Suite programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint). Prior experience with SalesForce strongly preferred.
Demonstrated success translating strategic plans into operating plans with clear goals, objectives, and measurement tools.
Proven ability to make sound, data-based judgments.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a quality of work.
Proven communication skills with the ability to build strong and trusted relationships with staff, donors, board members, and volunteers.
Proven ability to maximize donor database tools, generate fundraising metrics and reporting and implement a strong donor communication system
