This exciting position offers an opportunity to make a tremendous impact on hundreds of Jewish teen volunteers as well as thousands of children and families experiencing hardship across Atlanta. As Creating Connected Communities (CCC) Experiential Education Director, you will collaborate with our team to enhance and implement our one-of-a-kind Leadership Development Program, work with incredibly passionate Jewish teens and thousands of kiddos through our community-building outreach programs, and represent CCC in the community as a central member of CCC’s team! This position offers significant flexibility and opportunities for career growth and development.

A little bit about us:
Creating Connected Communities (CCC) is an Atlanta non-profit formed in 2010. CCC’s mission is to enhance the lives of children and families in need by empowering teens to become community leaders and volunteers. Through its signature program, Amy’s Holiday Party (in its 27th year!), and other monthly community outreach programs, CCC serves 8,000+ children and families each year and offers hundreds of teen volunteer opportunities annually. The cornerstone of CCC’s work is its Leadership Development Program (LDP), an up to 4 year-long experiential-learning program that?empowers?Jewish teens between 8th-12th?grade to?develop their Jewish identity, values, and leadership skills?in a variety of impactful ways as they plan programs for our community partners.??Our program features hands-on activities and projects, speakers, and small group discussions that really challenge our teens to explore tough topics and make a significant impact in their community. CCC continues to grow each year, currently engaging 227 teens in LDP, and we need an innovative and enthusiastic educator to help us meet the interest and need for our work!

LDP focus areas:
-Non-profit work and community needs assessments
-Empathetic volunteering and volunteer recruitment
-Diversity, inclusion, and social justice education
-Program planning and implementation
-Fundraising strategies and public speaking
-Creating Jewish identity through Tikkun Olam

In this role, you will work with our team to accomplish our goals in a variety of areas, including to:

Education and Programs
-Implement our unique and impactful Leadership Development Program’s curriculum at locations around Atlanta;
-Manage your Education and Program Associate that assists with administrative work and provides program support;
-Recruit, hire, and train young adult mentors to create your team of informal and passionate educators for LDP;
-Work with our team to enhance LDP, collaborating on engaging curriculum and educational strategies;
-Manage and report on LDP surveys to continue improving program content and delivery;
-Lead teen recruitment/marketing efforts, plan and present at info sessions for prospective teens and lead communication with partner organizations;
-Manage and train teen board members who serve as support leaders for LDP and assist with teen engagement;
-Oversee teen volunteer registration and serve as the day-of contact for teens and parents at our programs;
-Assist in the planning and implementation of our small-scale community outreach programs;
-Oversee LDP administration including RSVPs, service hours, parent/teen communication and applications; and
-Attend professional development meetings and networking/partnership opportunities to ensure educational and programmatic best practices for CCC.

Development and Operations
-Attend CCC board meetings as necessary and sit on the Education Committee as a staff member;
-Collaborate on the writing and implementation of CCC’s strategic plans, policies, future goals;
-Implement LDP’s Teen Phonathon fundraiser, including call sheet preparations, data management, and overall logistics, with support from the CCC team;
-Manage our LDP alumni outreach plan with the development staff;
-Assist with development opportunities related to LDP including in-person solicitations and marketing;
-Manage CCC’s social media presence as it relates to LDP and outreach work, including recaps of programs, LDP sessions, spotlight opportunities, and community news;
-Manage the development and implementation of the CCC budget with respect to LDP;
-Attend community events/meetings and organize presentations to educate the community about CCC’s work; and
-Assist the CCC team with operational responsibilities as needed.

We need you to:

-Have a dynamic personality with a strong presence, the ability to “command a room,” and engage large groups of diverse Jewish teens;
-Have experience teaching teens or working in an informal Jewish education/camp/youth group/program setting;
-Work as a “team player” and demonstrate an “all hands on deck” approach to goal setting and attainment;
-Maintain accountability and display efficiency in a remote working environment;
-Have strong written and verbal communication skills when interacting with teens, parents, team members, and community representatives;
-Demonstrate ability to use excel, Sharepoint, Survey Monkey, and CCC’s CRM (with training);
-Be responsible, patient, trustworthy, mature, and demonstrate good time management skills;
-And most importantly, demonstrate passion for CCC’s mission and a desire to make a true impact!

Here’s how it works:
-Currently, LDP has 4 locations with 10 sessions per year per location. These meetings occur primarily in the evenings, with a few “all locations” sessions on Sundays.
-Outreach programs occur on weekday afternoons and weekends. Currently, there are small weekday programs 2x per month and 4-6 large programs on Sundays per year.
-As the organization grows, the schedule could be adjusted and/or dates could be added.
-All other responsibilities occur flexibly and remotely during “workday hours,” with the exception of weekly team meetings and other in-person/phone meetings as scheduled.
-Community meetings, presentations, development meetings, and professional development opportunities are scheduled with advance notice. -This job allows for a very flexible work schedule to accommodate the evening and weekend requirements.
