OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR, Los Angeles Area
We are seeking an energetic, self-motivated and collaborative individual to join our administrative team. As a key contact for congregants and visitors, you will be a trusted partner who is integral to the successful operation of our synagogue. This position reports to the Executive Director, functions as part of the synagogue’s administrative team and collaborates with the clergy, education, and accounting staff. Knowledge of Judaism is not required.
Primary responsibilities include light book-keeping, communications, supporting programmatic activities, assisting in planning and executing events, and playing a key administrative role in a variety of administrative projects. We are looking for a candidate who has excellent communication skills, works collaboratively with others, has the ability to learn and utilize many software applications, and is friendly and positive even in stressful situations. Knowledge of Shulcloud or other database software is a big plus.
You will perform confidential administrative duties for the synagogue’s Executive Director and Board of Directors.
Duties include but are not limited to:
-Respond to phone and email inquiries in a timely and professional manner
-Maintain database of congregant information
-Responsibilities including entering data and generating reports from ShulCloud
-Heavily involved with congregant communications including developing content for and managing the delivery of Constant Contact emails, and our newsletter
-Coordinate event and program logistics
-Schedule events and meetings
-Scope of role may adapt and change over time depending on needs

Experience and Qualifications Needed
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be organized, able to multi-task with keen attention to details. Must have a highly professional appearance and a courteous demeanor.
-Ability to develop and manipulate spreadsheets (Excel), documents (Word), and to perform mail merges.
-Must be able to keep workspace clean and orderly as it serves as reception area for synagogue.
-Experience in project and event organizing
-Strong ability to manage calendars, learn and use database systems and organize information; proficiency in all things google helpful.
-Strong problem solving instincts
-A Bachelor of Arts or comparable college degree preferred
-Familiarity with the basic office suites with minimal supervision, but more importantly, you're able to learn and adapt to new software programs and technologies as they emerge.
