Job Summary/Objectives

The B’nei Mitzvah and Administrative Coordinator will coordinate and organize all facets of the B’nei Mitzvah process at CBE. They will be introduced to families when their children are in 5th grade. They will set b’nei mItzvah dates, assist with the hiring and managing of tutors, schedule tutoring and clergy meetings, manage dress rehearsals, and act as the main point of contact for family questions about the process. In this role, they will work closely with our clergy team, our finance team, our facilities team, and our engagement team so that all details are accounted for in the lead up to and on the day of each b’nei mitzvah.

They will also provide support to our Cantor and our Director of Youth and Family Programming. Support will include proactive schedule management, expense tracking, vendor contracts, event support, and other day-to-day duties.

The Coordinator will be a full-time employee of CBE, reporting to the Member Services Manager and taking direction from various Members of the Sr. Staff including the Cantor and the Director of Youth & Family Programs. This individual is part of the Member Services and Engagement Teams, and as such can expect to work evening and weekend hours, and to provide support for Shabbat services and High Holy Days.


This position handles confidential and sensitive information on a regular basis. This individual works closely with all staff, lay leaders, and volunteers, to ensure that member needs are met, and that the work of CBE is done professionally while building relationships and furthering CBE’s mission.

We are seeking a warm, compassionate, detail-oriented problem solver who is responsive to changing circumstances, with fabulous customer service, and a strong intuition about meeting people’s needs. The successful professional will be organized, flexible, a skilled time manager, and a great collaborator and team player. This individual must be comfortable in a fast paced environment and to be able to work independently.

Qualifications and Core Competencies:
-One to two years of successful experience in an administrative role
-Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
-Proficiency with CRM database management systems such as, but not limited to, Shulcloud
-Proficiency with various social media platforms and comfort with working with technology platforms such as, but not limited to, Zoom, Slack and Asana
-Impeccable attention to detail and keen sense of urgency

-Comfortable being in a forward facing role
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-Professional demeanor and proven track record of working well with others

This position is full-time and FLSA classification exempt and not eligible for OT. Must be able to work during the High Holy days and other Jewish holidays. In addition, some evening and weekend hours required, and this position requires availability on a regular basis until 6:30 pm on Friday evenings in support of the clergy team for Shabbat.
