Position Summary:
The Planned Giving & Endowments team raises approximately $18 million in future commitments and $35 million in realized planned gifts each year. The Development Executive is responsible for building relationships with planned giving donors and prospects through engagement, cultivation and solicitation. This professional will promote planned giving throughout the organization, collaborate in the identification and engagement of planned giving prospects, and serve as a resource to annual campaign divisions.

Major Responsibilities:
• Cultivate and steward relationships with prospective and existing planned giving donors
• Direct solicitation of planned gifts through face-to-face visits, phone and written communication
• Provide education and assistance to annual campaign divisions in the area of planned giving fundraising
• Personalize donor illustrations on the philanthropic and financial benefits, as well as the tax implications, of charitable gifts
• Maintain a current knowledge of relevant tax laws and their impact on charitable giving, including regular attendance at educational and professional seminars
• Other assignments as needed or directed by departmental management

Competencies and Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree required
• 2-3 years fundraising and/or sales experience
• Excellent communication and writing skills necessary
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
• Proactive, creative, and detail-oriented
• Demonstrates ability to prioritize and multitask in a demanding work environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; comfortable working with various databases
