The Digital Communications Associate at Leo Baeck Temple is responsible for implementing the synagogue’s overall digital communications strategy, including managing its audio and video library, posting content across all digital marketing channels, and monitoring results to advance the mission of Leo Baeck Temple. Effectively using all forms of written, graphic, digital and web-based communications, you will work closely with the Professional Team to strengthen the Temple’s brand while developing and coordinating high quality content and publicity for our dynamic calendar of programs and activities.
The Digital Communications Associate will also provide program support for special events as needed, including registration, maintaining responses, recording/streaming audio and video, assembling materials, etc. Opportunity to work remotely a couple days a week.
Write and develop engaging, daily content that leads to measurable results; create compelling graphics to accompany posts on all social media channels
Develop and maintain an ongoing social media editorial calendar
Track and measure social media metrics, as well as Google Analytics for website, to understand effectiveness and adjust approach, as needed
Provide quarterly reports of social media and website metrics to draw insights from interactions and engagement for leadership team
Ensure content on website is updated regularly with the latest calendar, videos, and program publicity to drive website traffic
Create, write, edit, and design all eblasts and e-news to effectively communicate to target audiences
Oversee video streaming and appropriate placement on digital channels during and following the program
Create new website pages, forms, and links in coordination with new program strategy
Support staff in the creation of video content and disseminating it to target audiences by providing one-on-one support and/or creating guides of best practices and step-by-step training
Stay current with trends in social media tools, applications, channels to design and develop strategies accordingly
Create, manage digital, and maintain archive – photos and videos - for use in promotional information
Apply knowledge of search engine optimization to content and posts across all digital channels to ensure superior positioning
Research and adopt the latest SEO best practices and strategies
Assist when called upon to provide support for LBT functions, as needed.
Create a welcoming environment to Temple members and community
Perform other related duties, as assigned
Bachelor’s Degree in communications, multimedia/digital communications, graphic design, marketing or a related field.
Exemplary written and verbal skills
One to three years of professional level experience preferred.
Excellent understanding of digital marketing concepts and best practices
Demonstrated social media/social media campaign experience
Writing for search engine marketing and backlinking purposes, as well as analysis and reporting with SEO tools, a plus
Prior experience in working with video streaming, web development, CMS, e-mail management tools
Experience working with Temple management software (ShulCloud) or similar CRM
Exceptional time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
Creative, energetic and self-motivated
Excellent writing and editing skills and extraordinary attention to detail
Highly developed interpersonal and organizational skills with professional and pleasant communication style: work well with others and interact positively with all members of the congregation
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to be flexible.
The hours of work shall include, but are not limited to the following, which represent LBT’s standard work week: Monday – Thursday 9:00a.m. – 5:00p.m., Friday 9:00am – 4:30pm, with 1 hour lunch to be taken between 1:00pm and 2:00pm
