We are seeking a bright and energetic Sales & Membership Associate to join our results-driven membership team. This person will interface with fellow JCC staffers and members and therefore must be articulate and comfortable with phone and in-person communications. This position offers a base annual salary plus uncapped commission.
Our ideal candidate will be a creative self-starter with a positive outlook, who is able to provide a superior level of customer service to current and prospective members and guests. He/she/they will understand member motivation, customer acquisition and retention, and instinctively know how to tap into those needs.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
Provide engaging and informative tours of the JCC while encouraging individuals to become members
Work on a retention plan with supervisor to build internal and external relationships to encourage corporate partnerships
Generate leads, both individual and corporate, and close new memberships
Utilize membership software and registration system to assist new and renewing members with registration, billing and payment inquiries
Respond to member questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner
A friendly and energetic personality with customer service focus
1-2 years of Customer Service experience preferred.
2+ years’ experience with proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close. Nonprofit, community center, health and wellness club. or corporate sales experience preferred, but not required
Superior interpersonal skills and the ability to interact in a positive and professional way with members and colleagues
Organized and detailed oriented with the ability to multi-task, adjust to changing deadlines quickly and remain calm during stressful situations
Proficient in Microsoft Office 2010, including Word, Excel and Outlook, as well as a working knowledge of multiple system databases and basic office equipment
Punctuality and reliability a must and ability to work a flexible schedule
Driven and committed to success while maintaining integrity
High school diploma/GED equivalent required
