Congregation Beth El, Berkeley’s progressive Reform Congregation since 1945, is seeking educators for our K-7th grade supplementary program that meets after school on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and/or Thursdays for this coming school year of 2021-2022. We have positions open with nearly all grades. Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades meet on Thursday afternoons, 4:00-6:00 pm; 3rd-5th grades meet on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, 4:00-6:00 pm; 6th and 7th grades meet on Wednesday afternoons. Our teaching year begins at the end of September. Additional teacher in-service sessions and meetings are held throughout the year.
Ideal candidates will have teaching experience in a Jewish or secular educational setting, enthusiasm for working with children, passion, and a demonstrated commitment to Judaism. We want folks who can implement creative, experiential, innovative learning experiences to meet the needs of diverse learners.
We anticipate returning to campus for in-person learning, following COVID-19 protocols.
