Vibrant synagogue seeks a tech-savvy team player to assist the Communications Director in all aspects of communications. The Communications Assistant has a communications background, experience using WordPress and InDesign, and familiarity with Constant Contact and Chaverware.
The job includes creating and maintaining website pages and registration forms, preparing community emails, promoting and publicizing events, and contributing to all communications platforms including social media. Candidate is highly organized with strong written and verbal skills. Basic familiarity with the Jewish community and Jewish life cycle events is required. The Communications Assistant is a self-motivated problem solver, and provides digital, editorial, creative and administrative support. This is a part time position.
Primary responsibilities:
Assist in creating, updating and maintaining the content of our WordPress website including creating online registration forms.
Collaborate on digital communications including weekly Constant Contact community emails.
Assist in producing our quarterly bulletins and other forms of digital and print communications.
Provide general administrative support, and work collaboratively with the professional and lay leadership of Temple Israel Center.
All other administrative duties as assigned.
Skills:
Experience in WordPress required.
Knowledge of InDesign required.
Experience in Constant Contact and Chaverware strongly preferred.
At least 3 years of professional communications experience.
Basic familiarity with the Jewish community and Jewish life cycle events is required.
Exceptional organizational, multi-tasking, and communication skills.
Experience in Publisher, Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Powerpoint is required.
Knowledge of Google Drive and Google Search Optimization is strongly preferred.
An understanding of tech platforms and social media and experience working with social analytics is a plus.
Public relations experience is a plus.
Ability to work well under pressure.
Exceptional written skills including copy editing and proofreading.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Highly motivated to learn quickly, work independently, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast paced environment.
3 years office/professional experience is a plus.
