Children’s Activity Coordinator
Position is responsible for supporting, developing, and implementing the Children Enrichment program and summer camp. This includes overseeing the After-school Enrichment Classes, Vacation Camps and Summer Camp. Work schedule is yearlong with varies and includes weekends, nights, and legal holidays (e.g. Presidents day, Labor Day).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Facilitate After-school classes including planning, implementation, booking instructors and marketing;
• Serve as a coordinator for After School program Vacation Camp and Summer Camp including planning, implementation, marketing, booking trips, organization of transportation and staffing;
• Work with Summer Camp leadership team in planning, organizing and implementing summer camp programs. Serve as Unit Head for summer Camp.
• Responsible for recruitment of all programs;
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provides excellent customer service at all times by communicating on a daily basis to members, children, guests and community;
• Respond within 24 hours to incoming calls and emails to ensure all correspondence, concerns or issues are handled promptly;
• Assist families either in person or by telephone with referrals, resources, support and advocacy;
• Recognize the needs of the members and community and develop appropriate programmatic and administrative responses;
• Sensitivity to the service populations cultural differences and socioeconomics characteristics;
• Ensure all supply inventories are maintained to keep programs operating at optimum level to maintain participant satisfaction;
• Provide a clean, safe and well maintained environment for all members and guests;
• Ability to work efficiently, effectively and independently to complete assignments in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing tasks and demands;
• Ability to work collaboratively with agency staff members to form a positive, supportive team atmosphere, and maintain courteous and professional working relationships with clients, vendors and outside contacts of agency;
• Ensures strict confidentiality of privileged information;
• Evaluate and analyze programs and identify areas of strength and weaknesses while creating ways to improve upon them;
• Maintains adherence to all company policies and procedures, including agency safety requirements;
• Must work the days and hours to perform all assigned responsibilities and tasks, and be punctual and timely in meeting all performance requirements, including but not limited to, attendance standards and work deadlines;
• Any additional duties agreed upon by the Director.
MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish)
• Minimum 1-2 years’ work experience in program development and working with children;
• Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with management, co-workers, vendors and clients in a manner which encourages harmonious working relationships, enhances the image an reputation of the agency and promotes positive client/agency relations;
• Highly detail-orientated in the ability to plan, organize and implement programs and services;
• Expertise in creative program development, implementation and evaluation;
• Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing, as well as organizational, planning, attention to detail and interpersonal skills required;
• Must be willing to work independently and follow through on assigned tasks;
• Must be proficient in use of standard office equipment, computer programs and have knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database, working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite;
• Strong knowledge of Jewish culture, heritage and traditions;
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required;
• Willingness to perform other related duties as needed, required or assigned.
