Part Time Religious School Coordinator

We are a small Jewish congregation of approximately 150 families, located 10 miles east of Hartford in a beautiful, suburban town. We are a warm and caring congregation, dedicated to enhancing Jewish life in our community. Our religious school consists of ~20 students in grades K - 7. We are fortunate to have a wonderful 6-person faculty, 3 members of which are clergy. Our religious school gathers at our temple for classes every Sunday morning and Tuesday evening.

We are seeking a qualified candidate to oversee the operations of our religious school. The Coordinator would work closely with the Vice President, Religious School, as well as with our Rabbi and Cantor. The Coordinator would be required to be on site at Temple Beth Hillel during all religious school classes and special events - typically 3 hours on Sunday mornings and 1 hour on Tuesday evenings. The Coordinator would complete all additional work - planning, communications, and administrative tasks - from home (approximately 2 hours per week.) This is a 10-month position, running from August - May of each year.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Communications & Relationship Management:
-Build and maintain relationships with religious school families
-Coordinate and support the needs of Clergy, faculty, and student teachers (Madrichim)
-Communicate with families and staff frequently about upcoming events and summaries of completed events; Collect and encourage feedback from families; Keep social media platforms up to date to keep families engaged

Administrative Duties:
-Maintain calendar; Prepare staff, families, and students for upcoming events
-Collect and maintain records: enrollment data, rosters, attendance data, report cards
-Schedule and coordinate faculty meetings
-Oversee facility during religious school classes

Position Qualifications:
-Prior experience in leadership or education
-Administrative experience; Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office
-Exceptional organizational skills
-Experience creating and managing calendars and events
-Strong interpersonal and communication skills
