Congregation Tikvat Jacob Beth Torah (CTJ) , a beach casual, egalitarian, conservative style congregation in Manhattan Beach is seeking religious school teachers for Sunday mornings and/or Wednesday afternoons from September through June. Sunday classes begin September 19 and Wednesdays begin October 6.
At the Ohren Education Center of CTJ, we see Judaism as a gift passed down from our ancestors. It is a set of principles and ideas, and a collection of wisdom thousands of years in the making that can help us to live, do, and be better. In short, it is a set of tools that helps us to flourish as individuals and as a community. Our staff and faculty strive to create a supportive, engaging environment in which to allow our students and families to explore Jewish culture and its teachings.
We are seeking candidates with experience teaching or in related settings, who see themselves in the above vision and are excited to help our children explore the gifts of their Jewish heritage. We are looking for energetic, creative, flexible leaders and role models.
We are planning to open for in person classes with masks required for all. Teachers must be vaccinated for Covid-19. Salary is 35-55 per hour DOE.
