About the Opportunity
We are looking for a detailed, dedicated, self-starter to bring their skills to Spertus Institute's Development team. Excellent interpersonal, writing, and organizational skills are a must. Your abilities to think creatively, work collaboratively, and multi-task efficiently will be valued in this role. The position reports to the Vice President for Advancement and works closely with all members of the Development team.
This position is onsite and reports to the Vice President for Advancement. Some evening and weekend work is required.
Provide general office oversight and support for entire Development team, including managing receptions, maintaining supply and stewardship inventory, filing, copying, and scanning.
Generate and mail donor acknowledgement letters, membership materials, and pledge reminders on a timely basis. Serve as the team’s back-up gift processor.
Manage printing and assembly for in-house mailings.
Serve as a liaison via phone and email to constituents with questions about donation processing, receipting, and membership.
Assist with developing and drafting of direct mail appeals, membership materials, email solicitations, and other donor communication pieces.
Manage preparation of letter templates for gift acknowledgements, ensuring that they remain fresh and compelling.
Work with Marketing team to develop social media messaging for Giving Tuesday and other fundraising campaigns.
Assist in the development, tracking, and presentation of donor recognition materials, donor stewardship, and donor cultivation materials.
Assist with drafting grant and sponsorship proposals and reports.
Event and Meeting Support
Support event and meeting preparation, including room scheduling, catering, AV coordination, and meeting materials.
Provide in-person and online support for fundraising events and public programs.
Provide post-event support, including importing attendees into Raiser’s Edge and assisting frontline fundraisers with follow-up and acknowledgement.
Conduct research on donors and foundations to assist in the cultivation of new relationships and prepare for meetings and/or presentations.
Bachelor's degree preferred.
Excellent writing, communications, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Self-starter and team player with ability to work well with diverse constituents including donors, trustees, members, and program attendees.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.
Office administration and/or development experience preferred.
Familiarity with database and/or CRM systems a plus.
