We seek a dedicated and passionate individual who will work under the direction of and in partnership with our Religious School Principal and help take our successful school and programs to the next level. We are looking for an educator who has vision, charisma, integrity and creativity and who can communicate a love for Judaism and Jewish learning and can help envision, implement, enhance and expand our Religious School program. We welcome a new member of our staff into a circle of supportive and cordial collegiality. We are looking for a team player; someone who will bring their own gifts and knowledge to further enhance the level of our educational programs. The Educator should have demonstrable organizational and managerial skills, and the ability to work caringly with children of all abilities and needs. We seek and individual who is open to enhance his/her own learning and through that enthusiasm which might encourage and inspire others to deepen their involvement in Jewish and synagogue life. It is important that our educator be well-grounded in the values and traditions of the Jewish people but also understand that change and innovation have helped the Jewish people survive over many millennia. We look for an educator who is committed to engaging learners of all ages.
Areas of Responsibility include:
In conjunction with the Religious School Principal:
-Oversee, create and implement our K-7 Religious School program, curriculum, family days, etc.
-Oversee the administration of the Religious School including registration, report cards, publicity, communication and marketing, as well as anything else deemed necessary.
-Hire, train, supervise and evaluate faculty and staff in consultation with the Religious School Principal.
-Coordinate and manage all communication amongst professional staff, administrative staff, teaching faculty and parents.
-Build our special needs program in conjunction with the Senior Rabbi (curriculum, structure, outreach, etc.)
Mondays 3:30pm – 7:00pm
Wednesdays 3:30pm – 8:00pm
Plus an additional 8-10 hours per week. About 20 hours weekly.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Publisher, Excel.
Prior experience in a synagogue/school setting
Experience with Chaverware a plus
Salary commensurate with experience
