Preschool Teacher / Head Preschool Teacher
Salary range $16-$27 DOE
PTO and healthcare reimbursements
Half time position and full time position available
We are seeking experienced creative, positive, nurturing individuals who are looking for the opportunity to make a difference and have a passion for working with children in a supportive, enthusiastic environment. Experience working in a Jewish preschool preferred, but not required.
Demonstrate a clear knowledge of child growth and development and various learning modalities.
Ability to work positively and respectfully with young children, manage a classroom of 12-20 students.
Curriculum development and lesson planning for your classroom- both indoors and outside, with a balance between child-initiated and teacher directed activities. Incorporate small group and individual activities with whole group instruction.
Support all aspects of the whole child by focusing on language, cognitive skills, physical skills and social-emotional development in an inquiry-based educational
Cooperatively maintain an orderly and attractive environment conducive to the healthy growth, and development of the child.
Relate sensitively to children from diverse racial, cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
Work supportively with a co-teacher and/or team of teachers.
Ensure positive communication with parents on a daily basis. Hold parent conferences concerning the growth and development of the child.
Familiarity with Jewish customs, culture, practices and holidays preferred.
Participate, as requested, in staff and parent meetings, in-service education and conferences.
Maintain required reports and records.
Understanding of Community Care Licensing Regulations.
Commitment to compliance with any required COVID related safety measures required by legal and health authorities.
Perform other duties as requested by the Preschool Director, or the Temple Beth Sholom Board of Directors
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-Holds a BA degree in ECE or relevant field
-2 years teaching experience
-12 ECE units or Child Development Associate Permit- Site Permit preferred
-CPR & First Aid Certification
-Negative TB test
-Criminal background clearance
Repetitive use of hands and fingers (e.g. computer keyboards, filing, etc.)
Standing, sitting, or walking for significant periods of time
Normal range of hearing and vision to perform work and communicate
Stooping or kneeling (e.g. to access lower shelves, attend to children, pick items up off the floor, etc.)
Lifting and carrying light loads up to 40 lbs.
Reaching (e.g. reaching to upper shelves, etc.

The Preschool Program will operate Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Currently operating with shorter hours due to covid restrictions.
The Preschool will be open on all weekdays except the secular and Jewish holidays listed in the employee handbook.
The employee’s work schedule shall be Monday through Friday, plus occasional additional days to accommodate special events or meetings and other needs of the position not met during the normal workweek.
All work must be performed on Temple Beth Sholom premises unless approved otherwise by the Temple Beth Sholom Board of Directors.
