Lower School (3rd-5th Grade) General Studies Lead Teacher Positions

Gideon Hausner Jewish Day School seeks a dynamic, committed, creative individual to serve as a Lead Teacher in our 3rd-5th Grade general studies program. The successful candidate will teach all general studies content areas (language arts, math, science, social studies) in a primary grade classroom. This educator will work closely with the other members of the grade level team, including an assistant teacher, to create and implement high quality, engaging, project-based, multi-disciplinary instructional units.
During the 2021-22 school year, Hausner may be offering in-person and/or remote, online instruction. Candidates should be prepared to offer an engaging curriculum in-person and through Zoom

-Willing to be actively involved in community building events.
-Design and implement project-based, multi-disciplinary instructional units aligned with common core math, history and language arts standards as well as high quality STEM units aligned to NGSS standards.
-Collaborate with grade level colleagues to plan, integrate, and enhance instruction in all curricular areas.
-Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
-Attend and actively participate in all faculty meetings.
-Participate in special school events including, but not limited to, Open House, Back to School Night, special student performances. Attendance at other community/school events is encouraged.
-Chaperone overnight grade level field trips if applicable (grades 4 and up).
-Be willing and able to teach both in person and through a virtual medium such as Zoom.
-Four-year degree from a college or university.
-Valid teacher credential and/or previous teaching experience preferred.

Hausner’s middle school program, where the average student-teacher ratio is 18:1, was founded in 1998. Our 1:1 device program, introduced in 2012-2013, provides on-demand access to technology resources, both at school and at home. MS students participate in electives ranging from media arts, to drama to programming and sports.
Four-acre Palo Alto campus features a first-rate library, Beit Tefilah, two computer labs, a design lab and design studio, an art room, a music room, a state-of-the-art gym and expansive outdoor playing fields.
