Key Educator Qualifications:
The ideal candidate is a dedicated educator whose expertise and passion have prepared them to teach engaging lessons in the framework of Club Z Institute’s curriculum
• Passion for Israel and Israel education, passion for the Jewish people
• Proud Zionist
• Teen engagement experience
• A BA degree from college is required, majors such as History, Jewish History, Political Science, are a major plus. Masters and/or Ph.D. degrees are a big plus
• Above basic knowledge of Jewish/Israel history and understanding of Arab- Israel conflict
• Willingness to learn and grow as an Educator receiving training internally and externally as needed.
• Be able to develop a lesson plan and work with the Director of Education
• An ardent educator who can work to create a welcoming, vibrant, and deeply enriching environment
• An educator who is comfortable with the theory and practice of informal and experiential education. Strong facilitation skills - able to connect the dots and make the past relevant to the teens today.
• An enthusiastic team-oriented collaborator with a strong work ethic, a sense of humor, an ability to take risks and learn from situations.
• A reflective thought partner who is willing to think about what does and does not work within a given program or educational setting.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
• Execute engaging lessons in the framework of Club Z Institute’s curriculum
• Help develop a culture of learning and achievement within the teen community
• Work with a regional manager to plan social events outside of regular institute sessions
• Use creative approaches to ensure student engagement and participation in sessions such as one-on-one engagement.
• Be proactive, engaging in issues that Jewish students face on their high school campus, with guidance from HQ
• Help develop and execute leadership training programs for Club Z teens. Together with the Executive Director and senior staff team, develop strategy for Jewish engagement, experience, and education
• Participate in recruitment events, as well as social and parent/community events to help promote Club Z education
• Fulfill a role of a mentor to Club Z teens which includes cultivating a personal relationship with the teens. Teen engagement on continuous bases, as well as during ad-hoc events
• Develop new and creative Jewish initiatives, including experiences around Jewish holidays, and learning.
• Empower students to take ownership over their Jewish communities, cultivating dynamic leaders. Develop and empower students to create initiatives inspired by their interests and passions
• Provide timely and tactful feedback with parents regarding student progress and comment writing; make phone calls home for students of concern
• Guide student behavior to foster achievement, personal responsibility, intellect, and individuality in all students.
• Collaborative - able to work in a team environment as well as on his/her own with minimal supervision. Comfortable working virtually as well as at an office, meeting in person for Club Z institute sessions
• Ability to travel, work occasional evenings, be generally available and reactive to current events requiring action and proactive planning
• Excellent communication skills complemented by a good writing ability
• Some experience in marketing and communications is a plus
• Technology savvy, willing to learn new tools and technologies and share your knowledge within the organization
• Be active on social media, know how to post and promote events
• Strong general PC skills, GSuite, MS Office and related tools. Experience with communication, project management and CRM tools is a big plus
• Be able to fulfil all responsibilities including operational requirements of the role such as keeping track of attendance, reporting to HQ, maintain up-to-date calendar and related.
