Religious School Director
Lead our nationally accredited K-6 education program, reflecting a commitment to excellence and best practices in the field of supplemental Jewish education.
Connect with students and their families, getting to know their strengths and areas where they need support. Oversee all support needed for special need students and unique circumstances, provide positive behavior management to help our students develop their Jewish identity.
Nurture deep relationships between our school families and our congregation, ensuring student and family retention and growth.
Train, supervise and support JQuest teachers and Madrichim, fostering a staff that is also a community of learners and leaders.
Partner with clergy and lay leaders to strengthen the program.
Ensure Hebrew rich learning environment, prayer literacy, and competence and confidence in Hebrew decoding.
Supervise administrative support, oversee the smooth running of the program, coordinate material/equipment needs and scheduling special events.
Be responsible for the safety of all students and teachers, regularly reviewing safety and security procedures and connecting with colleagues to ensure knowledge of best practices in personal and communal safety.
Adhere to and develop budget, oversee all expenses, payroll, and other financial operations in a fiscally responsible way.
Be an active and regular participant in Senior Staff meetings.
The Director will report to the Senior Rabbi for curriculum/program and to the Executive Director for budget and personnel issues.
Quest Noar, Youth Group, Family activities
Oversee our 7th – 10th grade education program with regular input and reflection from teens and families to ensure student engagement, increase attendance/retention and provide meaningful learning and social opportunities for our teens.
Recruit/retain engaging teachers; develop teen focused curriculum and special activities to foster teen engagement.
Supervise our Youth Group Advisor, budget, and programming.
Lead teen travel including L’taken (10th grade program) and Etgar 36 family trip (Civil Rights)
Oversee grade level Shabbat and Holiday worship experiences and collaborate with clergy on family programming.
Encourage additional Jewish education opportunities for our students and families including Jewish camps and regional and national youth activities.
