Valley Chabad seeks a talented, entrepreneurial, and creative fundraising professional to lead the effort for a new Capital Campaign and the ongoing Annual Campaign. The Capital Campaign and Development Director will work together with the Executive Director, Board Members, office staff and lay leaders to grow our campaign and engage donors in the work of Valley Chabad. The Development Officer will have three major areas of responsibility: Capital Campaign Management, donor stewardship and cultivation; and management of internal donor processes.
Qualified candidates must have proven extensive experience in fundraising including individual and major gift experience, outstanding relationship building, and developing relationships relevant to the responsibility of the position. Candidate must be a self-starter, organized, and self-motivated.
Manage a Capital Campaign.
Database / Donor management.
Develop systems for ongoing donor communications and engagement.
Manage relationships at various levels of giving and engagement
Develop a system to recognize, find and engage existing and new donors.
Coordinate a calendar of communal and personalized communications.
Coordinate a calendar of events small and large.
Prepares materials needed for donor meetings.
Prospect identification and research.
Create a Legacy Gift Program.
Qualifications and Skills:
BA/BS degree required
5 years of experience in non-profit fundraising
Capital Campaign Experience
Strong interpersonal, leadership, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and writing skills.
Capable of working both independently and collaboratively, and the ability to prioritize
successfully multiple assignments.
Creative thinker, high level of emotional intelligence and a sense of humor.
Ability to use computer systems including Outlook, Excel, Word, and a donor management system.
Excellent organizational skills.
Ability to plan, coordinate and execute events.
Flexibility to work evenings and some Sundays.
Marketing abilities are a great plus.
Knowledge of the local Jewish community is a plus.
Demonstrated understanding and strong personal commitment to the Jewish community and Chabad’s mission.
